The Global Fund has donated 24 mini buses worth US$643,000 to support Vietnam’s malaria prevention efforts.


Deputy Minister of Health Tran Chi Liem handed over the automobiles to the National and Quy Nhon Institutes of Malariology, Parasitology and Entomology, and preventive medicine centres in 22 provinces nationwide.


Vietnam aims to reduce the morbidity rate to below 0.8 percent per 1,000 citizens and the mortality rate to 0.015 percent from the rate of 0.02 percent per 100,000 people by 2010.
