A US$3.7-million batch of aid, including four containers of cloth and clothing, was granted to the Vietnam Red Cross (VRC) in Hanoi on September 19 by a delegation of the Republic of Korea (RoK) Red Cross. Headed by its Chairman Wan Sang Han, the delegation has been working in Vietnam from September 18-23.

At the aid-reception ceremony, Chairman-cum-General Secretary of the Vietnam Red Cross Society Nguyen Van Thuong expressed his gratitude towards the Korean people and the RoK Red Cross Society in particular for their valuable support. He also hoped the two Red Cross societies will further cooperate to relieve the pains, especially of the disadvantaged.

On the occasion, Korea’s VIDAMO Company in Vietnam donated VND50 million for poor disabled people and Agent Orange victims in Soc Son district of Hanoi.

Mr Han was also honoured by the Vietnam Red Cross Society with an insignia in recognition of his great contributions to social activities in the country.
