Vietnam's achievements and high economic growth rate will ensure the country's bright prospect in 2006 though it has yet become a member of the World Trade Organisation, said Frederic Sanchez President of the Vietnam Committee under the Movement of the French Enterprises (MEDEF).

In an article on the Diplomatic Letter magazine, he said that Vietnam is one of the countries attaining the highest economic growth rate, following China with increased domestic consumption, foreign investment and strong development of the private sector.

The country's investment environment has been much improved, he added.

Over the past years, French businesses have joined prioritised mega projects in Vietnam in the fields of transportation, energy, industry and aviation and achieved fine results, he said.

The French government wants to help Vietnam implement development projects in transportation infrastructure, telecommunication, financial sector and environment.

Vietnam's economic reform and development efforts will attract more investment opportunities to the country and affirm itself as a promising partner of French businesses in Southeast Asia, Frederic Sanchez said.
