One dead in house fire in HCM City

VOV.VN - A man died as a result of a fire which engulfed a three-storey house at Ba Diem residential area in Hoc Mon outlying district, Ho Chi Minh City on the afternoon of August 27.

Local residents saw a column of black smoke rising from the ground-floor as soon as a house owner managed to escape in panic after hearing loud shouts. Some people used mini fire extinguishers to stamp out but failed to access a room on the third floor as it was carefully locked.
Six fire trucks and 35 fire fighters were mobilized to the scene and the fire was brought under control after a few minutes. Unluckily, the blaze killed a resident named Nguyen Dung Bao, 60, and fully destroyed plenty of assets.

The investigation of the fire is still underway.
