The Japan-Vietnam Goodwill Ambassador, Sugi Ryotaro, attended a ceremony to present awards to the winners of a film-making contest sponsored by the Japanese Government in Hanoi on November 3.

The first prize went to “My feet” by Lomonosov high school in Hanoi. The second prize was presented to “My dream” by Ly Thuong Kiet junior high school in Hanoi and the third prize for “Water hyacinth” by Le Quy Don high school in the central coastal Khanh Hoa province.

The prize-winning works will be sent to the Japan-Vietnam contest in Japan’s Ibusuki on December 2.

The contest received a total of 16 entries produced by pupils and students in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Khanh Hoa province.

Each entry, made by amateur video camera provided by the Japanese Government, is just three minutes long in which the makers present their wishes, expectations, thoughts and interest in life.

Ambassador Sugi, who is dubbed as the Vietnam-Japan Special Friendship Ambassador, also said he expects Vietnamese and Japanese students will work to promote the relationship and mutual understanding between the two countries.
