Overseas Vietnamese hold Tet get-togethers in Poland, Morocco

VOV.VN - Vietnamese embassies in Poland and Morocco have hosted festive gatherings for Vietnamese nationals living in their host countries to celebrate the traditional lunar New Year holiday (Tet).

Addressing the function in Poland, Ambassador Nguyen Hung thanked the Polish Government for their donation of COVID-19 vaccines and medical equipment, helping the Vietnamese Government control the virus and recover the national economy.

He shared difficulties the Vietnamese community in Poland faced during the COVID-19 fight, and encouraged them to support each other and provide assistance to Polish medical workers in the ongoing struggle against the pandemic in their host country.

He also extended his best wishes to overseas Vietnamese in Poland on the occasion of the Tet holiday.

Elsewhere, representatives of the Vietnamese community gathered at the headquarters of the Vietnamese Embassy in Morocco on January 22 to watch the Homeland Spring 2022 which was televised from the Hanoi Opera House in the presence of State President Nguyen Xuan Phuc and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son. 

At the event Ambassador Dang Thi Thu Ha discussed plans in 2022 to support the Vietnamese community, including the establishment of the Vietnamese Association and the opening online classes to teach Vietnamese for young expatriates.

Participants took part in a range of art performances, played folk games, and tasted traditional food for Tet celebrations.
