Hanoian martial artists won a total of eight gold medals, three silvers and one bronze at the National Wushu Championships, which concluded on April 1. Half of the medal haul was won in taolu (performance) events.

Hanoi's martial artists entered five final matches and pocketed four golds in sanshou (combat) events. The capital’s triumph was not much surprising, as the city is among the country’s leading wushu centres.

Second to Hanoi at the championships was HCM City with five gold, seven silver and 10 bronze medals. HCM City competitors won three gold medals in the men's jianshu (sword) and daoshu (broad sword) events.

The Ministry of Public Security ranked third, securing four golds, two silvers and one bronze.
