The Government has asked the Ministries of Trade and Finance and other relevant agencies to promptly make public all general information about Vietnam's multilateral and bilateral commitments on its accession to the World Trade Organisation (WTO).

Under a recent Government decree, relevant ministries and agencies and the government negotiation delegation are required to focus on resolving any outstanding matter and to accelerate multilateral and bilateral talks with Vietnam's partners in order to conclude the negotiations as scheduled by the Working Party for Vietnam's Accession to the WTO.

The Government has also asked the Minister of Trade to cooperate with all relevant agencies to prepare a Government report on this matter to be submitted to the State President for consideration and then to the National Assembly at its upcoming 10th session. The Minister will also devise a plan to implement the commitments for WTO accession and submit it to the Government for approval at its October meeting.
