Ambassador confident of stronger partnership between Vietnam and China

VOV.VN - The current China visit by Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh gives the two countries’ leaders the chance to exchange strategic issues, contributing to promoting mutual understanding and political trust, as well as consolidating the stable and healthy development of bilateral relations.

This working trip is of great importance to bilateral relations as it comes hot on the heels of the successful visit to China in November 2022 by Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, said Mai.

It takes place in the context of complicated and unpredictable developments in international relations, especially the global economic recession due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The visit is anticipated to provide fresh impetus for bilateral cooperation in the fields of economy - trade - investment, culture, education, tourism, science -technology, bringing many practical benefits for the two countries’ peoples, said the ambassador.

Leaders of the two countries will discuss measures to well control disagreements, maintain a peaceful and stable environment at sea, enhance coordination and support each other at multilateral forums, contributing to deepening bilateral relations, for the sake of peace, stability and development in the region and the world at large.

During this stay, the PM will attend the 14th annual meeting of the New Champions known as the Summer Davos Forum in Tianjin to be co-hosted by China and the World Economic Forum (WEF).

The forum themed Entrepreneurship: The Driving Force of the Global Economy comes as converging so-called polycrises continue to impact the global economy. Moreover, an increasingly competitive geopolitical and geoeconomic environment is further straining governments and private industries as they recover from the COVID-19 pandemic.

AMNC aims to renew momentum for the types of innovation that can drive a stronger recovery and foster a more equitable, sustainable and resilient global economy. The meeting also seeks to facilitate global and regional collaboration around various issues.

PM Chinh is scheduled to attend and share Vietnam’s vision at the plenary session themed ‘Braving the Headwinds: Rewiring Growth Amid Fragility’, and the leaders’ working lunch on preventing a decade of loss.

He will then co-chair the Vietnam - WEF National Strategic Dialogue with WEF leaders, attend the Vietnam - China business forum and have meetings with leaders of participating countries and business corporations.

Vietnam, as a reliable partner and responsible member of the international community, will actively coordinate with international partners to solve global problems in order to maintain and promote economic growth both regionally and globally, noted Mai.

According to the ambassador, by attending the forum, Vietnam would like to popularize its socio-economic development achievements through its development goals, viewpoints and orientations.

Vietnam expects to grasp global economic trends and exchange development and governance thinking in the context of the world economy’s profound transformation, thereby raising its voice in global issues.

In addition, it desires to further strengthen its cooperation with the WEF in a more effective and substantive manner, and ramp up cooperation with global and regional corporations, especially Chinese enterprises, in order to pool external resources for national development.
