Vietnamese billiards players into Round of 16 of World Championship

VOV.VN -A trio of Vietnamese billiards players, Tran Quyet Chien, Nguyen Quoc Nguyen, and Nguyen Duc Anh Chien, have all successfully qualified for the Round of 16 at the ongoing Carom Billiard 3-Cushion World Championship which is currently taking place in Randers, Denmark.

During their opening matches of the tournament, both Anh Chien, world No.26, and Quoc Nguyen, world No.16, enjoyed victories over strong opponents, gaining an advantage in their upcoming matches as a result. Anh Chien still managed to qualify for the next round despite suffering a defeat to Korean opponent Jae Ho in his second game on November 29.

Elsewhere, Quyet Chien, world No.8, also enjoyed a win in the opening tie against Ruben Legazpi of Spain with a final score of 40/35. In the second round of match which took place this morning, Chien recorded a 40/24 victory over Jacob Sorensen of Denmark to rank first place in Group G.

Quoc Nguyen is scheduled to play against Myung Woo of the Republic of Korea in the second round match this afternoon in order to decide who finishes first in Group O.

The two players had both defeated Christian Hernandez of Mexico to earn their place in the next round of the tournament.
