The Republic of Korea Taekwondo Association (KTA) will send a coach and provide equipment for central Phu Yen province to help train its taekwondo artists from February 8.

An agreement to this effect was signed in Phu Yen province on January 13 between Vice Chairperson of the provincial People’s Committee Le Kim Anh and KTA President Park Kum Sil.

The agreement will be valid for a year.

Phu Yen now has 24 taekwondo clubs with a total of 1,500 athletes. It has already contributed a number of outstanding athletes to the national squad, including Tran Hieu Ngan who won the first silver medal for Vietnam at the 2000 Sydney Olympics.
