Deputy Prime Minister Vu Van Ninh expressed his delight at the World Bank (WB)’s continued support for Vietnam during his meeting with Karin Finkelston, International Finance Corporation’s Vice President on Asia Pacific under the WB on May 30.
Ninh applauded her first working visit to Vietnam and said the WB has assisted the country in many areas, especially poverty reduction, infrastructure development, economic growth.
He said he hopes that the IFC will continue its support for Vietnam, especially to address funding shortage and the lack of expertise in many sectors.
Finkelston said despite challenges, Vietnam has made significant results in reducing poverty and improving the investment environment. She also confirmed that the IFC will provide continued support for Vietnam to meet the country’s current challenges.
