Romania supports peaceful settlement of disputes in East Sea

VOV.VN - Romania supports the maintenance of peace, stability, freedom of navigation and aviation in the East Sea, said Romanian Foreign Minister Lazar Comanescu at a July 12 meeting with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh in Hanoi.

The two Ministers agreed to work closely to implement agreements signed during the Romanian Foreign Minister’s visit and further boost bilateral cooperation in economic, investment, training, education, and culture.

They agreed to enhance cooperation at multilateral forums including the UN, the Asia-Europe Meeting, the EU-ASEAN cooperation. They stressed the need to maintain dialogue at multilateral meetings to enhance peace, stability, security and economic growth.

The Romanian Foreign Minister also underlined the need to settle disputes in the East Sea through peaceful measures in line with international law and the 1982 UN Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS).
