Vietnam knocked out at World Badminton Champs

(VOV) - Vietnam has not succeeded at the World Junior Badminton Championships in Chiba, Japan, when its last representatives were outplayed by their strong opponents on November 1.

In the third round of the mixed doubles event, Do Tuan Duc and Le Thu Huyen met strong duos from the Republic of Korea’s (RoK’s) Jung Jae Wook and Shin Seung Chan.

The Vietnamese players were overcome in the first set 12-21, but recovered in the second when Tuan Duc and Thu Huyen pipped their opponents 22-20.

Unfortunately, Jung Jae Wook and Shin Seung Chan showed their superior endurance in the third set, with a decisive win 21-14.

Similarly, in the men’s doubles, Choi Sol Kyu and Park See Woong from the RoK trounced Vietnam’s Tuan Duc and Hong Nam in straight sets 21-10 and 21-8.

Meanwhile Thu Huyen and Nhu Thao were also defeated by Japan’s Hayata Sakiand Watanabe Akane 18-21; 24-26 in the women’s doubles event.
