Deputy PM: Vietnam values ties with Denmark

VOV.VN - Deputy Prime Minister cum Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh has affirmed Vietnam’s recognition of importance on developing friendly relations and fruitful cooperation with Denmark.

At a February 25 reception for Danish Ambassador Charlotte Laursen in Hanoi, Minh expressed his delight at the positive development of the comprehensive partnership between the two nations.

He thanked the Government of Denmark for providing ODA funding for Vietnam and asked Ambassador Charlotte Laursen to work closely with Vietnamese ministries, sectors and localities on measures to deepen bilateral relations across a variety of fields especially when the two countries are set to celebrate the 45th anniversary of diplomatic ties this year.

Ambassador Charlotte Laursen in turn reiterated the Danish government’s desire to develop effective cooperation with Vietnam - one of the ten prioritized partners in the growth strategy of Denmark. He pledged to work hand in hand with the Vietnam Ministry of Foreign Affairs and relevant agencies to promote effective cooperation in the areas of Denmark’s strength and Vietnam’s demand, especially in climate change adaptation, the environment, energy, education and green growth.

He also underlined the need to strengthen bilateral business connectivity to full take advantage of the benefits of the to-be-signed Vietnam-EU Free Trade Agreement (FTA) and launch a string of celebratory activities in observance of Vietnam- Denmark diplomatic relations.
