The Ben Tre Import-Export Joint Stock Company shipped 25 containers of fresh coconuts to the Republic of Korea (RoK) by the end of October, according to the company’s recent report.
Besides exporting copra as material for processing coconut-made products, the export of fresh coconuts is a new way to bring the Mekong Delta province’s speciality to the world, helping to increase incomes for tens of thousands of local farmer households.
Ben Tre province now has nearly 45,000 ha of coconut palms, producing an annual yield of more than 311 million fruits.
