COVID-19: Vietnam registers nine more imported cases

VOV.VN - Vietnam has registered nine more imported cases of coronavirus, bringing the country’s tally to 1,265, the Ministry of Health (MoH) reported early on November 15.

All the new cases are Vietnamese citizens who returned from Russia, Japan and Qatar between October 30 and November 13, the ministry said in its 06.00hrs update.

They were all quarantined as soon as they landed at airports in Vietnam, posing no risk to the community, said the ministry.

They tested positive for the SARS-CoV-2 virus on November 13 and are now receiving treatment at hospitals in Binh Duong and Khanh Hoa provinces.

As of 06.00am on November 15, Vietnam has recorded a total of 1,265 coronavirus cases, including 574 imported cases and 691 locally transmitted cases.

As many as 1,103 patients have recovered from the disease, making up 87%. The death toll caused by the virus remains at 35, mostly in Da Nang city, the country’s largest coronavirus hotspot.

Currently, 127 active patients are receiving treatment at health facilities across the country and they are all in stable health condition. Of the figure, 39 patients have tested negative at least once.

More than 15,000 people have been placed in quarantine for medical observation nationwide.
