Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Gia Khiem has praised the Japan External Trade Organisation (JETRO)’s contributions to developing economic, trade and investment relations between Vietnam and Japan.

While meeting JETRO’s Permanent Deputy President Tomoharu Washio in Hanoi on June 9, Deputy PM Khiem hailed JETRO and Japanese enterprises for coordinating with the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) to organise the “Japan-Vietnam Economic Forum” in Osaka and Tokyo in September this year.

The Deputy PM said he hopes JETRO will continue to help speed up the implementation of three large projects in Vietnam, including the North-South express railway, the North-South express highway and the Hoa Lac Hi-tech Zone.

He also expressed hope that JETRO will help increase bilateral trade turnover between the two countries, proposing the organisation mobilise Japan’s business community to support the signing of the Vietnam-Japan Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA) and promote Vietnam ’s image in Japan.
