Vietnam Airlines cut fares on domestic flights

(VOV) - National flag carrier Vietnam Airlines (VNA) on January 12 announced its plan to reduce fares on domestic flights with distance of less than 500 km.

Under the plan, passengers will enjoy low-cost flights to island, remote and border areas, with a maximum price of VND1.6 million (nearly US$80) for an one-way economy class seat as from Jan. 1, 2015. These flights include Hanoi – Na San, HCM City – Can Tho/Ca Mau/Con Dao (Poulor Condor island), Vung Tau/Can Tho – Con Dao, and Danang – Pleiku/Quy Nhon/Dong Hoi.

The VNA’s move aims to boost socio-economic development in island, remote and border areas following the Transport Minister’s Decree issued on December 25, 2014.

In addition, as from Jan. 15, 2015, the airlines will offer discount for soldiers, workers and officials working in Con Dao, Ca Mau and Pleiku.
