Vietnamese youth’s football tourney opens in Laos

The seventh edition of a football tournament of Vietnamese youth in Laos - Vientiane Cup 2020 - kicked off in Laos’ Vientiane capital on September 5, with the participation of nine teams.

The annual football event helps Vietnamese youths in Laos improve their health and skills, promoting solidarity among the Vietnamese community and its images to the Lao friends.

The teams will compete in the round-robin format, with the top two qualifying for the final. The event is set to wrap up on October 4. 

A fundraising campaign will be held during the tournament to offer aid to centres for handicapped children in Vientiane.
