Mr Trong made the statement on November 21 while receiving a delegation from the Propaganda and Training Board of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party Central Committee, led by Cheuang Sombounkhan, who is also the Lao Party Secretary.

Sombounkhan spoke highly of the results of the delegation’s working visit to Vietnam and praised effective cooperation between the board and the Communist Party Central Committee’s Commission for Publicity and Information of Vietnam over the past years.

He called on the two sides to continue working closely with each other and promoting exchanges for mutual benefits.

Vietnamese Party leader Trong expressed his hope that the two organizations would co-organize activities in celebration of the “Year of Friendship and Solidarity between Vietnam and Laos” in 2012.

He also urged the two bodies to make full use of means of communications to bring Party resolutions to life.

Sombounkhan informed the host of the talks held earlier between the two sides, saying they had focused on areas of cooperation for the coming year.

While staying in Vietnam, the delegation visited the northern mountainous province of Dien Bien, the Vietnam News Agency (VNA) and Radio the Voice of Vietnam (VOV).
