An exhibition of Thai products opened at the Hanoi Friendship Cultural Palace on August 7, drawing more than 100 Thai businesses.

There are some 150 stalls showcasing a wide range of products such as industrial, electric and electronics products, fruits, food and beverages, cosmetics, household appliances, jewelry and textiles.

Also on display are different objects used in Thai cultural festivals flower garlands, coloured lanterns, traditional umbrellas and unique fragrant candles.

Apart from promoting Thai products, the exhibition will offer Thai businesses a good chance to learn about the Vietnamese market and seek business opportunities and partners, said Tawaichai Koopirom, Minister Counsellor in charge of Commercial Affairs from the Thai Embassy in Vietnam.

Addressing the opening ceremony, a representative of participating Thai enterprises spoke highly of Vietnam as an attractive business and investment environment for Thai businesses.

Since Vietnam and Thailand established diplomatic ties in 1976, annual two-way trade has reached US$4.91 billion.

Since 2001, the exhibition has been held annually in both Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.
