In photos: Day 1 of PM Phuc’s Japan visit

VOV.VN - Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, his wife and high-ranking delegation arrived at Haneda International Airport, Tokyo on the afternoon of June 4 (local time) for an official visit to Japan and the 23rd International Conference on the Future of Asia.

Those among welcoming guests included Japan Ambassador to Vietnam Kunio Umeda and his wife, Japanese Foreign Minister Kiyoshi Odawara and Japanese Foreign Ministry staff, Vietnam Ambassador to Japan Nguyen Quoc Cuong and his first lady, Vietnam embassy staff along with Vietnamese community representatives in Japan.

PM Phuc's visit to Japan on June 4-8 at the invitation of Prime Minister Shinzo Abe aims to reinforce the comprehensive economic cooperation between the two countries in all spheres and enhance economic-trade and investment ties at central and local levels.

It also reflects Vietnam’s active role in the region and its viewpoint on globalisation process.




Upon his arrival in Tokyo on June 4, Phuc met the governor of Ibaraki, Masaru Hashimoto.

The Vietnamese cabinet leader said the Government attaches great importance to increasing ties between localities of the two countries.

Later, the Government leader and his wife visited the Vietnam Embassy and talked with the Vietnamese community representatives in Japan.

PM Phuc spoke highly of sound performance and contributions the embassy has made in boosting Vietnam – Japan intensive strategic partnership across multiple fields.

He asked the embassy and Vietnamese expats to promote bilateral cooperation programmes in all fields.
