Vietnam has been described an ideal destination for investors by participants at a seminar held in Washington, USA on September 15.

Vietnam continues to be an important nation for US investors and businesses and two-way trade turnover between the two countries has increased by 700 percent over the last decade. Many US investors want to go to Vietnam to tap into the labour and consumer markets.

Brian Huseman, Director of Global Public Policy under the Intel Group – the world’s largest chip maker remarked that Vietnam has a young population and a diligent labour force that is willing to cope with challenges. Being an emerging economy, Vietnam continues to be an attractive and fruitful destination for US investors.

Barbara Weisel, Assistant US Trade Representative for the Southeast Asia and the Pacific region emphasised that Vietnam have made impressive achievements in economic development and administrative reform in a short period of time

At the seminar, Vietnam’s former Minister of Industry and Trade Truong Dinh Tuyen answered queries posed by US businesses and overseas Vietnamese living in the US while calling on businesses to invest more in Vietnam.
