Mr Viet is also head of the Party Commission for Organisation and head of the Party Steering Committee for Programme 165 which is designed to train State officials. 

During his stay in Berlin, Mr Viet held working sessions with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Universities of Potsdam and Berlin, and the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) to discuss the possibility of cooperation in training Vietnamese managers at German institutions.

German organisations said they are willing to cooperate with Programme 165 in developing short- and long-term training courses for Vietnamese officials majoring in administration, urban management, personnel management, environmental protection, international law and the German language.   

Mr Viet worked with Vietnamese Embassy staff, representatives of the Vietnamese community in Germany, and witnessed the signing of an economic contract between the PetroVietnam Construction Joint Stock Corporation (PVC) and Germany’s EUROPIPE company.
