Although Hanoi athletes faced tough competition in the Taolu event, they took nine gold medals - two gold medals more than Ho Chi Minh City athletes. They also carried off seven out of 15 gold medals in the Sanshou event, defending their champion title.
Most of national athletes showed progress in their performances at the tournament. National hopefuls such as Bui mai Phuong, Vu Tra My, Vu Thuy Linh, Nguyen Huy Thanh, Pham Anh Dung and Nong Le Hong Quang (in Taolu) and Bui Thi Hien, Nguyen Van Tuan, Vu Thanh Long and Nguyen Quang Quan (in Sanshou) all won gold medals.
Ho Chi Minh City finished second in the medal tally with eight gold medals, followed by the Ministry of Public Security (four gold medals) and the Army (three gold medals).
Taking place at Phan Dinh Phung Competition House from March 28-31, the tournament attracted 256 athletes (including 107 female athletes) from 30 cities, provinces and sectors across the country.
