Thirty-four students and young lecturers from 11 universities in southern Vietnam have received scholarships granted by the University Agency of French Speaking Countries (UAF) for their studies in France.

The recipients included 27 graduates and three lecturers who will work towards masters’ and PhDs’ degrees, respectively. The others will go for study tour and short-term courses.

They were among 80 students and lecturers nationwide who will enroll at 19 French universities - members of the AUF - under the agency’s scholarship programme.

Every year, the AUF grants Vietnam scholarships worth nearly EUR1.53 million to train graduates and lecturers.

The AUF plans to convene a meeting of its university partners in Hanoi on September 25-26 to discuss cooperation plan for the Asia-Pacific region in coming years. The meeting is expected to draw the participation of more than 200 delegates from universities in France, Canada, Belgium and other universities in Asia.
