The Vietnam Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment on October 1 officially nominated Ha Long City in northern Quang Ninh province as a candidate for the City in stable Environment award in the ASEAN region this year.

The award will be given as part of the ASEAN Ministerial Meeting on the Environment and the first Eastern Asian Ministerial Meeting on the Environment to be held in Vietnam on October 5-10.

The award aims to increase the community and political leaders’ awareness of the importance of environmental protection and stable development.
