The Prime Minister has allowed the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) to purchase 500,000 doses of vaccine against blue ear pig disease.

The vaccine will be used to stamp out the disease in case it spreads far and wide, according to a decision recently signed by the PM.

MARD is allowed to invite bids for the shipment, manage and allocate the vaccine to localities in case of emergency.

Provinces and centrally-run cities will use their own budget to purchase vaccines against cholera in pigs and receive vaccines against blue ear big disease for injections.

Blue ear pig disease has not shown signs of waning, with new cases reported here and there across the country.
