Vietnam plans to send 71 athletes to attend the 3rd Para Games in the Philippines from December 14-20 in the hope of winning at least 70 gold medals in six events, including track-and-field, swimming, weight-lifting, table tennis and badminton.

At the previous Para Games held in Vietnam, Vietnamese athletes bagged 245 medals in total, including 82 gold medals.

Due to financial difficulties, Vietnamese athletes cannot join the football and judo events, which are two strengths of Vietnamese athletes.

The Vietnamese sporting delegation, headed by General Secretary of Vietnam’s Paralympic Sports Association Vu The Phiet, will leave Vietnam for Manila, the Philippines on December 12.
