Construction of a 55-km road section linking HCM City-Long Thanh-Dau Giay as part of a North-South Express will begin in the fourth quarter of this year.

The first phase of the project, estimated to cost VND9.9 trillion, covers ground-clearance, compensations and resettlement of displaced tenants. It will be carried out by the Vietnam Express Company, and the People’s Committees of HCM City and Dong Nai. The investment was raised from Asian Development Bank loans, State budgets and the VEC’s funding.

The project is expected to help boost developments in the southern key economic triangle of Ho Chi Minh City, Dong Nai and Ba Ria-Vung Tau province.
