Hoi An to host RoK Cultural Days 2019

VOV.VN - Several artists from the Republic of Korea (RoK) are due to perform in the ancient town of Hoi An during the “RoK Cultural Days in Quang Nam 2019” event, scheduled to take place from November 16 to November 17 at the An Hoi Statue Garden.

The occasion’s opening ceremony will enjoy the participation of a variety of Korean music bands and singers such as J Morning, B-boy MBCrew, and Jinju. Furthermore, traditional music troupes including Gugak E Sang Byeongin and Lee Seung Ju are expected to take to the stage during the event’s closing night.

Along with closing out the show, traditional art troupes from the RoK will also deliver two performances at 15:15 on November 16, followed by another at 10:15 on November 17 at the Hoi An Traditional Art Performance Theatre in Bach Dang Street in Hoi An.

The shows performed by the art troupes will give visitors the opportunity to experience a range of traditional Korean culture throughout the ancient town of Hoi An.

One of the highlights of the event’s closing night will be a fashion show displaying Ao Dai, the Vietnamese traditional dress, and the RoK's hanbok.

Throughout the two-day function, visitors and local residents will have the chance to experience authentic Korean cuisine, as well as exploring some of the RoK’s most popular tourist destinations.

This year marks the first time that Quang Nam province will host the "RoK Cultural Days", with the decision to hold the event in the province being based on the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Korean Cultural Center and the Quang Nam Department of Culture in 2017.

The occasion will also serve as part of a range of activities to welcome the 2019 ASEAN-RoK Commemorative Summit.

Ms. Park-hyejin, Director of the Korean Cultural Center, expressed hope that the occasion will help local residents gain greater insights into the culture of the RoK, as well as creating opportunities for future co-operation and cultural exchanges.
