A private company has been licensed to invest in a pilot closed poultry chain covering farming and slaughtering on an industrial scale in several southern provinces.
During the test-run from April 2006 to February 2007, the HCM City-based Huynh Gia Huynh De Co. Ltd is asked to strictly follow all the rules on poultry epidemic prevention and slaughtering.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, if any bird flu outbreaks are discovered in its farms during the test run, the company will have to cull the entire stock on the spot and stop the project.
