A conference was held in the southern province of Ben Tre on July 16 to honour nearly 600 delegates from 63 provinces and cities who have rendered great service to the revolution.

Among them were Heroes of the People’s Armed Forces, heroic Vietnamese mothers, wounded soldiers, and families of war martyrs.

At the event, deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Sinh Hung said the Party, State and people always honour the contributions made by those who have served the revolution. They symbolise the Vietnamese nation’s indomitable and steadfast spirit during the past wars of resistance for national liberation and unification and set a bright example for future generations to follow.

Mr Hung encouraged the delegates to uphold the revolutionary tradition and continue to contribute to Vietnam’s development.

The conference was jointly organised by the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs, the Ministry of National Defence and Nhan Dan (People) Daily.
