Addressing the opening ceremony, Deputy Chairwoman of the Hanoi City People’s Committee Ngo Thi Thanh Hang emphasised that the event started with a photo exhibition “Hanoi - Development and Integration”. “The exhibition aims to show Moscow people the images of Hanoi and its people in nearly 1,000 years of development. People in Moscow will see a Thang Long-Hanoi with its age- old cultural history, a dynamic Hanoi in the process of urbanisation, and a “City for Peace” which deserves to be Vietnam’s cultural and political centre”, Mrs Hang said.
The same day, the Hanoi authorities in coordination with the Vietnamese embassy in Russia and the Moscow authorities, held a seminar to discuss cooperation in investment, trade and tourism. The seminar attracted the participation of representatives from Moscow’s business community, Vietnamese entrepreneurs in Russia and many Vietnamese enterprises.
