ICT application toward an e-government is one of the main topics of the Vietnam ICT in Finance 2008 (ICTF’08) Conference and Exhibition, held in Hanoi September 18-19.

The Conference, co-organised by the Finance Ministry and the International Data Group (IDG), also discussed ICT application in modernising financial management, boosting administrative reform and international economic integration.

The event aims to seek latest technologies and solutions and share experiences in ICT projects in the finance sector.

Addressing the event, Dang Duc Mai, director of the Finance Informatics and Statistics Department, said that the finance sector has applied IT in all professional activities, initially laying a foundation for the provision of public services, adding that from now to 2010, the finance sector will focus on improving its management capacity, creating a basis for e-government building infrastructure and IT human resources training.
