PM Dung meets New Zealand leaders
(VOV) -During an official visit to New Zealand, on March 19 Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung met Governor-General Jerry Mateparae, Speaker of the House of Representatives David Carter and overseas Vietnamese people in New Zealand.
PM Dung and NZ Governor-General Jerry Mateparae reiterated their strong support for extensive cooperation between Vietnam and NZ aiming to lift the comprehensive partnership to a new height.
Dung suggested Jerry Mateparae assist the Vietnamese community in every possible way to tighten the friendship and spur effective cooperation between the two nations.
The NZ Governor-General greatly valued the Vietnamese community’s positive contributions to his nation’s construction and development.
Meeting with Speaker of the New Zealand House of Representatives David Carter, Dung said he believed that under Carter’s leadership, New Zealand Parliament and people will obtain greater achievements in the national development process, raising the country’s international profile.

For his part, Mr Carter closer coordination and cooperation between the two legislative bodies have helped advance the comprehensive partnership between the two countries.
The New Zealand parliament delegation’s participation in the upcoming 132nd Inter- Parliamentary Union Assembly (IPU-132) in Hanoi will contribute to the success of the important event, Carter told his guest.
Talking to Vietnamese people and students in NZ, Dung affirmed the Vietnamese community’s indispensability of the nation and pledged Party and State’s best efforts to protect their legitimate rights.
He hoped that OVs in New Zealand would continue to contribute positively to the resident country’s development and the friendship between the two peoples.
