The Hanoi Association for Relatives of Overseas Vietnamese opened its second congress in Hanoi on January 18.

A report by the association affirmed that in the previous term, the association had united the Vietnamese community overseas, helping them gain a better understanding the situation in Vietnam as well as the policies of the Vietnamese Party and State. Its members have participated in activities such as raising funds for the poor and victims of natural calamities, and learning and following the moral example of late President Ho Chi Minh.

Le Bac Doa, Chairman of the Association, said that in the next term, his organization will continue to implement the Party Politburo’s resolution 36 on overseas Vietnamese by helping their children learn Vietnamese and preserving the national traditions and customs.

Founded in 1997, the association now has 700 members.
