The promotion of cooperation between Vietnam’s and China’s Ministries of Finance will contribute to the traditional friendship and strategic partnership between the two countries.

Minister of Finance Vu Van Ninh shared the idea with his Chinese counterpart Xie Xuren at a working session in Beijing during his official visit to China from August 11-17.

At the session, both sides also informed each other of the economic development of their respective countries.

Minister Xie Xuren welcomed the visit, as part of the activities to celebrate the 60th anniversary of Vietnam-China diplomatic ties and mark Vietnam-China friendship year 2010.

In Beijing, Minister Ninh worked with the Governor of the People's Bank of China, Zhou Xiaochuan, on the impact of the financial crisis, measures to stabilise macro-economic development, and issues related to interest rates, foreign currency reserves, and bank management.

Previously, he met with Chairman of the China Securities Regulatory Commission, Shang Fulin, and Director of the Institute of Research under the Ministry of Finance, Jia Kang.
