Vietnam plans to send seven or eight athletes to compete at the Malaysia Open Swimming Tournament, scheduled to kick off on May 2.

Through the competition, Vietnamese swimmers are expected to improve their skills in preparation for the upcoming international tournaments, including the 26th SEA Games, the 2011 World Swimming Championships and the Olympic London 2012.

According to Vietnamese coach Dang Anh Tuan, after competing in Malaysia, the most outstanding swimmers including Huu Viet, Thanh Nguyen, Thai Nguyen and Anh Vien will attend a training course in China.
