The eighth Asia Media Summit (AMS 8) is one of the most important and prestigious media events in the region and a platform for both regional and international broadcasters to exchange information and experiences, said Chairman of the Hanoi municipal People’s Committee Nguyen The Thao.
Mr Thao made the statement at a reception for delegates attending the event in Hanoi on May 25.
He expressed his hope that they will learn more about Hanoi, a one-thousand-year-old city with a time-honoured culture imbued with national identity that is now on the right track for dynamic growth.
He also conveyed a message of solidarity for peace, friendship, cooperation, integration, development and prosperity.
At the reception, the Director of the Asia-Pacific Institute for Broadcasting Development (AIDB), Yang Binyuan, said he was honoured to be in Hanoi, a beautiful city, to meet international friends.
AMS 8 was hosted by Radio the Voice of Vietnam in coordination with the AIDB.
