Vietnam’s Becamex Binh Duong has been chosen by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) to compete in the AFC Cup next year as they were the first Vietnamese team ever to reach the semi finals in 2008.

This year’s Cup will include teams from Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, Bahrain, Hong Kong-China, India, Iraq, Kuwait, Lebanon, the Maldives, Oman, Sri Lanka, Syria and Yemen.

Another Vietnamese football team, V-League’s champions SHB Da Nang will have to play in the play-off matches before reaching the 2010 AFC Champions League along with Thailand’s Muagthong United, Indonesia’s Sriwijaya and Singapore’s Armed Force’s team.
