100 local and foreign artists to perform for free at jazz music festival
VOV.VN - More than 100 domestic and foreign artists are set to take part in the first international jazz festival to be held in the southcentral province of Khanh Hoa later this month.
The event, a music feast for jazz lovers, is to introduce modern European music to local audiences, and at the same time to promote the Vietnamese land and culture, said Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ta Quang Dong at a press conference held in Hanoi on April 15.
Nha Trang city of Khanh Hoa province will host the international jazz festival for the first time from April 27 to May 1, with main activities to take place at the April 2nd Square, Tran Phu street, and Thanh Nien (Youth) football ground.
The opening and closing art programmes will run with the themes of “The spotlight of Jazz” and “Jazz Flows” on April 27 and May 1, respectively. The shows will be live broadcast with each lasting 90 to 100 minutes.
Other free music programmes with the themes of “Living the Legend”, “The Latin Night”, and “The Collection” will take place from April 28 to 30 and have a duration of two to 2.5 hours each.
Many famous artists and jazz bands from the United States, Singapore, and the Republic of Korea have been invited to participate in the event.
Vietnamese singers My Linh and Thu Minh, jazz band Anh Em (Brothers), and saxophonist Tran Manh Tuan will also perform at the function.
