Russian artists to perform classical music concerts in Vietnam

Russian pianist Anna Grot, along with violinist Polina Borisova, will present a number of classical music concerts as part of the annual Arts Ambassador program in major cities throughout Vietnam from June 6 to 8.

The concerts are being sponsored by the Russian Center for Science and Culture in Hanoi, in collaboration with the Saint Petersburg House of Music, to mark the National Day of Russia.

The concerts will feature outstanding pieces created for violin and piano by world famous composers, including Nikolay Rimsky-Korsakov, Franz Liszt, Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky and Alexander Glazunov.

The two talented young artists have won prestigious awards at numerous music competitions in both Russia and throughout the world.

Polina Borisova graduated from the Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory in 2012, and has worked as an assistant lecturer at the Moscow Conservatory since 2015. She is laureate of various international competitions.

Anna Grot graduated from the Central Music School at the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory. Honored Artist of Russia, Grot was described by Professor Andrei Pisarev as a “brilliant virtuoso with artistic qualities, a bright temperament, a developed and mature musician”.

The concerts will take place at the National Music Academy in Hanoi on June 6, at the Nguyen Hien Dinh Tuong (Classical Drama) Theatre in Danang on June 7 and at the HCMC Music Academy on June 8.

The Arts Ambassador program offers an opportunity for Vietnamese music enthusiasts to learn more about Russian classical music, said Shafinskaya, director of the Russian Centre for Science and Culture in Hanoi.

The concerts also contribute to strengthening the traditional friendship between Vietnam and Russia, as well as improving mutual understanding between the two countries' people.
