Vietnam House introduces cultural identity in Canada

(VOV) - The Vietnam House in Ottawa, Canada, has been cited as “One of the things you really must see this week-end” by the Ottawa Citizen newspaper.

The project, sitting on 101 year-old house, designed by noted Ottawa architect W.E. Noffke, is a low, sprawling structure with a Spanish-Colonial Revival style design.

It attracted 400 visitors in just six hours after it opens the door on June 8.

Visitors have the opportunity to explore Vietnam’s culture right in the heart of Ottawa and get an up close view of Vietnam’s handicraft products, paintings, and photographs promoting the images of a peaceful and hospitable Vietnam.

Vietnamese Embassy staff enthusiastically introduced visitors to the beauty of Vietnam’s people and landscape. Many visitors expressed their desire to come to experience the country firsthand.

This year, more than 120 buildings of historical, cultural and functional importance are open for visitors on June 7-8, including the Embassy of the Republic of Armenia in Canada, Canadian factory to cast coins, the US Embassy in Canada, and the Ottawa bus system operating centre.
