Lao PM commences Vietnam visit

Lao Prime Minister Thongloun Sisoulith began an official visit to Vietnam on the morning of May 15.

At the invitation of his Vietnamese counterpart Nguyen Xuan Phuc, the visit marks the first overseas trip by Thongloun Sisoulith as Prime Minister of Laos. 

The visit looks to bolster mutual understanding between Vietnamese and Lao leaders, contributing to deepening the two countries’ traditional friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation. 

Thongloun Sisoulith was elected to the politburo at the 10th National Congress of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party (LPRP) in January this year. He became Prime Minister in April.
