2015 Penal Code under NA discussion
VOV.VN - Lawmakers on May 24 discussed the bill on revisions to the 2015 Penal Code.
Most deputies agreed that people aged 14-16 will only be criminally responsible for specific serious crimes.
“I agree with revisions to the Penal Code that we should not change the current criminal code for children just because of a few recent cases,” Deputy Bui Van Xuyen, representing Thai Binh province, explained.
In regard to food safety, several deputies suggested that using banned chemical substances that can cause serious harm should carry a criminal penalty.
48 deputies gave opinions on regulations on several kinds of crimes, charges, convictions regarding national security violation, economic management, drug, environment, food safety, among others.
On the morning of May 25, the NA will hear reports examining the draft amended Law on Public Debt Management, the draft Law on Foreign Trade Management.
In the afternoon, lawmakers will discuss in groups the socio-economic performance and State budget 2016 and the first months of 2017, and the State budget balance 2015.
