NA approves discharge National Election Council members

VOV.VN - On April 11, lawmakers will cast secret ballots to approve the proposal on relieving several vice chairs and members of the National Election Council (NEC) and the Council of National Defence and Security (CNDS) from their positions.

The list presented by Chairwoman of the National Assembly (NA) and the National Election Council (NEC) Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan includes:

Vice chairs of the NEC:

1. Nguyen XuanPhuc – Prime Minister

2. Nguyen Thi Doan – former Vice State President

Twelve members of the NEC:

1. Tran Dai Quang – State President

2. Huynh Ngoc Son – former NA Vice Chairman

3. To Huy Rua – former Head of the Party Central Committee’s Organisation Commission.

4. Ngo Van Du, former head of PCC’s Inspection Commission

5. Phung QuangThanh – former Minister of Defence

6. Nguyen Thi Nuong – former member of the NA Standing Committee

7. Nguyen Thai Binh, former Minister of Home Affairs

8. Nguyen Bac Son – former Minister of Information and Communications

9. Nguyen Thi Thanh Hoa, Chairwoman of Vietnam Women’s Union

10. Dang Ngoc Tung, President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour 

11. Nguyen QuocCuong, President of the Vietnam Farmers’ Association

12. Nguyen Dac Vinh, First Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union

The list presented by State President Tran Dai Quang for the discharge of Vice Chairman and members of the Council of National Defence and Security includes:

1. Nguyen Tan Dung – former Prime Minister, Vice Chairman

2. Nguyen Sinh Hung – former NA Chairman, member

3. Phung Quang Thanh, former Defence Minister, member

After the NA approved the discharge of the above positions, the NEC Chairwoman and State President will submit to the NA the list of vice chairmen and members of the NEC and CNDS for ratification
