EuroCham Vietnam gets a new head

VOV.VN - The European Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam (EuroCham) has announced its 2024 board of directors, with Dominik Meichle, managing director of Bosch Vietnam, appointed as the new chairman.

Meichle succeed Gabor Fluit, the former EuroCham Vietnam chairman, who helped to increase the number of the chamber’s members and facilitate its policy advocacy efforts during his term.

“Transitioning from a board member, to vice-chair, and ultimately to chairman within EuroCham has been an immensely rewarding experience. As I pass the baton, I am certain that Meichle's leadership will further deepen the Team Europe-Vietnam partnership," shared Fluit.

Meanwhile, Meichle stated, “Dedicated dialogue with all Vietnamese and European stakeholders will help us unveil opportunities for impactful collaboration and sustainable economic growth in Vietnam. While challenges lie ahead, I am excited about the opportunities this year presents.”

Founded in 1998, EuroCham is one of the largest foreign business associations with more than 1,400 companies operating in Vietnam. It plays an important role in shaping policy dialogue, promoting bilateral trade and investment cooperation as well as strengthening the economic relationship between Europe and Vietnam, especially within the framework of the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA).

This year EuroCham is expected to focus on strengthening policy advocacy and expanding environmental, social and governance (ESG) initiatives, with policy advocacy to be given top priority. It plans to hold about 90 meetings with Vietnamese authorities and send 200 letters informed by insights from its annual White Paper.
