Mexico, Vietnam bolster economic links

VOV.VN - Vietnam and Mexico will further all-around cooperation after their law-making bodies approve the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) Agreement which was recently inked in New Zealand.

At a meeting in Mexico City on February 24, Ambassador Le Linh Lan and Mexican Minister of Economy Ildefonso Guajardo Villarreal described Vietnam and Mexico as active members of the world’s largest free trade deal.

Ambassador Lan informed the Mexican Minister on preparations for the APEC Summit in Vietnam in 2017, describing this as a golden opportunity for Vietnam to promote itself as a renewed, dynamic and fast-developing country.

The Vietnamese diplomat also reiterated Vietnam's willingness to facilitate Mexican businesses' operations in the Southeast Asian nation.

During the meeting, both sides also compared notes on issues of shared concern, particularly trade and economics.

Mexico will participate in the APEC Summit in Vietnam and foster economic collaboration with the country, Villarreal added.
